Simon started life as a management accountant before ‘falling into’ the insolvency profession when his employer at the time became insolvent, and as a result of which he joined one of the now big fours’ insolvency teams.

Simon Blakey
Over the next six years or so Simon obtained a great deal of experience working on assignments both locally and nationally. During this time Simon qualified as a certified accountant.
Simon then joined a local multi discipline firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne, where he qualified as an insolvency practitioner prior to becoming a partner, leading the firms’ insolvency and business recovery department. During this time Simon built upon his experience, working on a wide variety of assignments whilst developing a network of local contacts.

In 2017 Simon, who recognised a niche in the market, formed Connect Insolvency, a bespoke firm of liquidators and insolvency practitioners, based in Westerhope, on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne. The practice specialises in providing advice and solutions to companies across the North East of England.
Simon remains focused on developing his practice whilst maintaining and developing his relationships within the region and building upon his links with the local business and professional community.
